By combining glossy peeled rattan with matte-finished rattan—created by shaving the surface of the material—we designed a woven pattern that brings out a subtle motif, despite the use of a single color tone. We named this technique semi-gloss twill weave, an original method developed in collaboration with Kase Rattan Craft.
Kase Rattan Craft has specialized in the processing of shaved rattan since its founding, and its in-house expertise in material preparation served as the inspiration for this design.
The rounded form, shaped using a custom-made wooden mold, is designed to harmonize naturally with contemporary clothing styles while also reducing friction against garments.
The shoulder strap is made of domestically sourced vegetable-tanned leather, hand-finished by a skilled belt craftsman.
Each component of the bag is designed to be detachable, allowing for easier repairs and maintenance over time.

加瀨ラタン工芸のためにデザインしたショルダーバッグ。
艶のある皮籐と、背の部分を挽いて艶を抑えた背取皮籐を、経緯（たてよこ）に組み合わせることで、同色ながらも文様が浮かび上がるような編み模様をデザイン。この編み方を「半艶網代編み」と名付け、加瀨ラタン工芸によるオリジナルの技法としました。加瀨ラタン工芸は、創業当初は挽籐の加工を専門としており、籐材の加工を自社で一貫して行える技術力がこのデザインの着想のもとになりました。
オリジナルの木型を用いた丸みのある形状は、現代の装いに自然に馴染むだけでなく、衣服との摩擦にも配慮。ショルダーストラップには国産のヌメ革を使用し、ベルト職人の手作業によって仕上げています。
すべての素材を分解可能な構造とすることで、修理やメンテナンスにも対応しやすい仕様です。
