A vase and stool made using traditional straw-hat manufacturing techniques. A semi-industrial process is used, in which a braided material known as braid is sewn into a spiral with a specialized sewing machine.
A three-strand braid combining RGB colors was developed on a braiding machine, producing 13 color variations. Through simultaneous color contrast, each color is perceived differently depending on its combination.
The marbled pattern emerges as the regularly recurring colors within a single braid align and shift against one another as it is sewn into a spiral, creating a pattern shaped in part by chance.

麦わら帽子の製造技術を用いた花器とスツール。ブレードと呼ばれる組紐状の材料を専用のミシンで螺旋状に縫製するという、中量産の手法が用いられています。
製紐機でRGBの3色の組み合わせからなる3ツ打のブレードを開発し、その組み合わせから13色のカラーバリエーションを生み出しました。3色から生まれる13色は色彩の同時対比の法則によって、それぞれの色が異なって知覚され、物理的には実在しない色が増えています。
マーブル状の文様は、1本のブレード内部で規則的に現れる色が、螺旋状に縫い合わされる過程で、色同士が繋がったりずれたりすることにより、生成的で偶発性を含んだ文様として浮かび上がります。
